This week, I chose to write about the recent popularization and use of GMO products in the agricultural industry. This is in keeping with my tradition of finding interesting topics for my blog post that many people either don’t know about or don’t know enough about. For example, my previous posts have been about Reputation, the Liberation of Auschwitz, and the Evolution of Music, all things that have been related to things in the news, but go into far deeper levels than what is commonly known or discussed. The more I write about these pieces, the easier they are to complete. I often see the word counter jump from fifty words to one hundred words to three hundred words to four hundred fifty before I can even notice the changes, which is nice. Perhaps the toughest part is coming up with a satisfying ending to whatever I have been writing. It can also be difficult to choose what to write about because of how important that part of the process is. If I choose to write about something boring or irrelevant I would quickly lose interest and have my writing sound like I’ve been dragging it all the way to five hundred words instead of a cohesive and well written essay. My only complaint would probably be the time scale that each post is due, considering how much works goes into each one, though this will probably change as I improve my skills. I look forward to writing another post next week.
