Montag's recovery has been a failure. His wife just called in the alarm. He imagines that a world where books are once returned to their former status and terrible knowledge brought back into the world will somehow fix the void in his mind. His idiocy knows no bounds. I tried to help him back onto the right path, teaching him that our job is protect the people from all the writers, the philosophers, the artists who seek to bring their unhappiness to those who deserve more. Does he not understand the books he holds above all else are so flawed and will just as easily turn against him as fight for him? I am preparing my things as I log these things on to my recorder. By now, Montag is a fully fledged criminal and will have to be arrested. I know that he will not try to run with the hound present, unless he truly is the idiot that his actions and words of the recent day make him out to be. Knowing him, Montag should already be on his way to the station, and I will wait for him, to take him on one last trip.
